Sri Lanka pace lead Lasith Malinga made a remarkable world record of asserting every one of the five wickets in an innings of an One-Day International (ODI) match, throughout the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2014 final at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
Malinga asserted the key wickets of Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez.
He sent down four overs in his first spell, in which he doled out just 13 runs and asserted three wickets. Malinga returned in the 37th over of the diversion and promptly disposed of the
Pakistan commander Misbah-ul-Haq. Between his beginning blast and the wicket of Misbah, Pakistan
had included 122 runs. The right-arm pacer asserted his last wicket in manifestation of Umar Akmal in the last over of the innings.
