Shahid Afridi took 500 Wickets in International career

Allrounder Shahid Afridi finished his 500 wickets in universal cricket playing against Australia in the World Twenty20 cricket measure here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium Mirpur on Sunday.

He asserted his 500th wicket rejecting Glenn Maxwell who played a booming innings of 74 from just 33 balls crushing six towering sixes and seven fours. He was going to be a risk yet Afridi demonstrated to him the route once more to the structure and therefore prepared for an energizing triumph for Pakistan.

Afridi caught two wickets in this match in four overs taking his count to 501 in each of the three arrangements of worldwide cricket.

Shahid Afridi is the fourth Pakistani bowler to take 500 or more wickets in all organizations of worldwide cricket after Wasim Akram (916), Waqar Younis (789) and Imran Khan (544).

The world record of taking the most worldwide wickets was held by Sri Lanka's off-spinner Muttia Muralitharan who stowed 1,347 wickets. He was emulated by Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne who took 1001 wickets. They were the main two bowlers to take 1000 or more wickets.

Shahid Afridi is the 27th bowler on the planet to get 500 or more wickets.

Test Record: In the Test matches, Shahid Afridi named 48 wickets in the 27 Matches.

ODI Record: He guaranteed 378 wickets in 378 ODIS likewise

T20i Record: He has named 75 wickets in 72 T20is as such.
